We have two vacancies for Clinical Research Fellows in diabetes funded through the lifestyle theme of the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre.
You will support translational studies in diabetes research. The primary project is to investigate how exercise and diet interventions interact with newer classes of glucose lowering therapies in the prevention or management of type 2 diabetes. We hypothesise that exercise and diet work in synergy with some medications whilst being counter-productive in others. We aim to test these empirically in order to provide patients with evidence-based recommendations for maximising their metabolic health.
You will be responsible for designing study protocols and providing medical oversight once studies are running, particularly in relation to the dose and type of prescribed therapies and participant safety during exercise testing and training.
The successful candidates will be will be based at Leicester General Hospital, working in state of the art research facilities. For more information and to apply, visit https://jobs.le.ac.uk/vacancies/vacancy-details.aspx?VacancyID=232
